Students’ Reflections on Knowledge Building Process and Scaffolding

Collaborative learning environments such as “knowledge building community” and “online have gained importance with the inclusion of new technologies in education process. In order to provide active participation expected these environments, scaffolds sentence openers role assignments are used support, guide enrich students' knowledge processes. this study, it is aimed examine pre-service teachers' opinions about online collaborative process Seventy-seven teachers participating study participated four different groups, using no scaffolds. process, students were asked complete questionnaire consisting 12 questions five likert types a semi-structured interview form 10 reflecting their own experiences. Qualitative research method was data analyzed by content analysis. addition, some descriptive statistics percentage frequency included. It observed that experiences mostly positive. The stated “it important determine our goals plan progress”. defined contributions most “providing diversity opinions”. reflections on better quality included interpreted context technology-supported education.
